How much to remove asbestos popcorn ceilings?

Hello,

We’re considering a home purchase of a house with popcorn ceilings. We haven’t had it tested, but I’m concerned that it has asbestos popcorn ceilings due to its age.

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have it professionally removed in a 3 bedroom home? There are three small bedrooms and also a small living room that all have popcorn ceilings.

I’m wondering if anyone has had this done, or has any rough idea what I’d be looking at price-wise? I’ve read a lot about the procedure, but can’t find pricing.. even very rough estimates.

It very much depends on where you live. In New York City the costs will be 5-10 times elsewhere. Just a rough guess for most of the USA would be $1-3k. Don’t buy the house unless it gets tested. Hire a professional to take the sample (couple of hundred dollars).

Talk to a different lawyer. Let them know what your lawyer is pulling and maybe you can get your asbestos suit AND your suit against your current lawyer all in one swoop. Something sounds awry.
