Canada Exports Asbestos To India
When will Canada stop exporting Asbestos to developing countries like India?
I saw a documentary about how Canada still exports it to other countries and it was devastating because you see people in these developing countries with no protection and shreading the asbestos apart. Many of whom get serious health problems in later life.
Why does Canada still export this horrible stuff (which was REMOVED from Parliament Hill)?
When will this stop?
@PUMPKIN – I don’t want a Nanny State but there needs to be regulation because this stuff is DANGEROUS! if it is not safe to use anymore in this country and around the world in industrialized countries why should they send it to vulnerable countries? Do you realize how serious it can be to handle asbestos?
It is illegal to export asbestos in the U.S. In fact, Canada is the only developed country that still exports this stuff.
