Ms. McFarlane has also worked with Ontario legislators to see to it that workplace violence be considered an occupational hazard. What has resulted is a partnership with the Crisis Prevention Institute and Act First Safety becoming the only independent facilitator of such a program in Canada. What started as a second career in occupational health and safety for Lauren McFarlane has developed into a blossoming relationships and affiliations with such organizations as Canadian Society for Training and Development, Canadian Society for Safety Engineering, Occupational Hygiene Association of Ontario, and the Industrial Accident Prevention Association.

Besides consulting, Act First Safety also offers a wide-ranging selection of occupational health and safety products for a varied group of customers.
